I recently purchased the OS UV-8000 radio.  It is multi band radio that has a sleek look and seems to work very well. This is not a DMR radio, it is analog only. I saw it on AliExpress, and noticed most of the reviews said it did not have any software and they were unable to program it. Challenge Accepted. LOL. Turns out, it wasn't much of a challenge, I reached out to a supplier on Alibaba, and was sent the software very promptly. The Wouxun KG-UVN1 now supports the DMR User Database. Hello DMR Fans, Rick here, KG7GUO for DmrShack.com.  I have some very exciting news for you. Wouxun has updated the Firmware for the KG-UVN1 and the Programming Software, I am pleased to announce, the KG-UVN1 now supports the DMR User Database. It will now allow 160,000 DMR User Contacts, and 10,000 TX (Talk Group) contacts. This is an awesome update. To make this possible, they reduced the record time for recording call audio from 8 hours down to 2 hours, which is not a big deal, because how often do you need to record your calls anyway?  I don't ever have a need to use this feature, but some may like it. So I wanted to do a Hands on Video of the Wouxun KG-D901.  I am really impressed with the audio quality of this radio.  In my previous review, I have a video showing some of the quirks of the radio but it didn't highlight the audio quality. I think the audio quality of this radio by Wouxun is definitely better than my video quality and narrating abilities. Haha I notice when on the DMR mode, you hear a lot of people with a lot of different radio models, but you rarely hear anyone say they are using a Wouxun.  I am not sure why that is, other then the fact, availability might be an issue.  There are not a lot of retailers selling the Wouxun brand. I picked up my 901 at BuyTwoWayRadios.com on closeout. I have been communication with Wouxun directly and am looking to pick up the Dual band model DMR radio, the KG-UVN1 I will definitely post a review of that model when I receive it.
